#Uv 82 baofeng chirp programming how to
Because the last station is an example of how to block yourself from accidentally transmitting on a "listen only" channel. Because researching this information took a lot of time and now you don't need to waste yours. Because the UV-5RA is simply too powerful (even on the low transmission setting) for use on many FRS channels -and those are removed from this setup file. Because the FCC has determined that you now need to transmit more “narrow” on some channels than you used to -and that is “enforced” in this file 2. Disconnect and you're done! So why are these seemingly simple instructions even posted? 1. Copy and paste stations from setup file instead 5. Load stations from radio -and delete them. Download setup file (GMRS-MURS-FRS1-7-and-1-COP.img) from this site 4.

Buy USB cable for it (I found mine on ebay) and install using driver from Miklor or the CD.

The locally purchased cable works like a charm.Using Chirp (Daily build) for setting up the Baofeng UV-5RA VHF/UHF tranceiver (hopefully)legally for GMRS license holders who wants to use the FRS, GMRS and MURS channels without getting in trouble with the FCC. You can save the files and use them as needed. Its also convenient when you travel to a different area with a different set of repeaters.

Its just fill in a spreadsheet and upload it. I wish I knew this before trying to save a few lousy bucks buying on he web. Chirp will do a repeater lookup for you based on county or point and radius. With all of that buying and returning and time lost, saving a whole $5.00 was useless. Radio City, a real live amateur radio store (known by fellow hams as "the candy store") located in a NE suburb of the metro are is a dealer for Wouxun radios and had the official programming cable for just a few more dollars then the ones on e-bay. I was so ticked off that the seller refunded me without sending the cable back. The radios and RSS are long done but the RSS is still copyrighted by Motorola and should not have been on that disk. First youll need to pull a copy of the existing config from your radio to. While exploring the driver disk, there was a Motorola folder containing some older RSS for like the GP300, etc. Open/Run CHIRP, connect your BaoFeng and plug it into an USB port on your computer.

Found drivers online for the USB cable but these were not correct and even got the BSOD in Win8.1.
#Uv 82 baofeng chirp programming software
Found a second one but the driver disk did not have any drivers but it did have Baofeng programming software to program the Wouxun which I only program it with Chirp or the official Wouxon software. First one was DOA, sent it back for a refund. I lost the USB programming cable for my Wouxun KG-UPD1P and turned to e-bay for a new one. If you know the $20 works then buy it, those cheaper cables are hit and miss and save yourself time and money just buy the $20 if you know it will work. The Baofeng radios seem picky on their cable, model specific.
